@Guido: also the F-1 and the F-15 from Platz had this. Possibly Italeri was involved, Platz has no inhouse construction...

Looking good!
I've build two of these and I had similar issues.
Reinforcing the tip tank joints is a great move, mine broke on several occasion and it was a pain to fix.

There are some faults with the kit, but it is really a positive build and shapewise the best in any scale
