EDUARD KIT NUMBER 11168. ZERO A6M3 TYPE 32 and 22 dual combo. Fantastic kit to build, everything went together perfectly. This build is extra special for me due to a number reasons. First to mention is the Airfis 72nd Zero was my first model I built as a very young boy. On the 19 May 2023 i had a brain tumour operation for 8 hours to remove the brain tumour. I was in and out of intensive care for the next month, it was aweful and so too the 4 additional months recuperating in hospital. Pleased to report I finally left hospital for home in October 2023 where I set my target to build the Zero. I wanted to see what functions I had after the operation. Many challenges which I wont go into except to say at least i could proceed with the Zero build even with my limitations. I wanted to try extra weathering on the Zero as the tropics really gave aircraft a heavily weathered appearance. This was my first time in heavily weathering an aircraft. The results I am happy with considering it was my first build after my operation and the first time applying heavy weathering. Its a personal decision how much weathering would occur on an aircraft , perhaps this one is over done. I will leave it as it is because it was my first model after the operation. I thank god my Professor Kirsty Hamilton and her team performed a great result for me . I could very easily have far more permanent injuries after the operation. Yes I have a number of limitations. But , I can carryout my modelling reasonably well. I am so grateful.
