The box was a little worse for wear. Parts were all there but I noticed some minor scuffs at some and a rather bizarre mold line on a clear part.

First step was to scrape off some of the not so great detail to prepare the cockpit and engines for the Eduard details.

quite a bit of weight needed near the nose, 30 grams according to instructions, the remaining ball bearings are in the nose cone itself

took a bit of pushing and shoving but the fit was largely ok, except for a noticeable gap between the instrument panel and the front of the main body parts

Fitting everything together, some noticeable gaps needed to be filled at the engine intakes and between wings and body. I've added some surface detail onto the wing surfaces but they don't really show on the picture, I hope they will get much better defined once I apply oil washes.

Canopy had this really annoying mold line across the centre, tried to clean up as much as possible but still noticeable up close 🙁

Thank you! I can recommend the Eduard details set to anyone building this kit, without it the engines and cockpit would look very plain and not very realistic.

Album info

I've received a box of the 1/48 Revell Eurofighter from a friend who found it in his attic. On first glance the kit seems complete albeit someone had started with some parts but abandoned it quickly.

Looking for 3rd party detail and decal sets, I picked up some parts from Eduard (their etched parts for my P-51 Mustang kit were very impressive) and a decal set depicting a EF by the Austrian air force. There are some really wild schemes available but I wanted something where I'm not covering more than half the surface with decals 🙂
