In the pictures you see the result of one afternoon. The fit of the wings is not that good but this is nothing which cannot be fixed. The cockpit is closed so I only did the basics here. My plan is to paint this Reppu in Japanese prototype orange.

looking quite good. those orange Japanese planes are certainly eye catchers

Very nice. The color choice emphasizes the planes lines. Brilliant work

Great looking finish. What colours did you use for the orange? I have a A6M -K2 in the stash to do one day in this colour.

Fellow mates, similar to my recently finished Aichi A6 Seiran I just can say: thank you for all your nice comments and likes!
The Reppu is a rare subject but nicely rendered by Fine Molds. The kit is very recommendable. Being an end-war prototype which never went operational it gives you a lot of freedom to build it in the way you like. Prototype or fictious operational A7M, everything is possible. I can onlly repeat myself: the Reppu is huge! I will post a comparison picture soon. Sizewise it easily can take it up with a P-47 and looks like a pumped up Zero (on steroids!) to me.
@ Gordon: I used a Gunze Orange Yellow H24, thinned with Isopropyl alcohol. Sprayed over white base made from Mr Surfacer. For highlighting I mixed wome drops of white into the orange. Let me know if you have any further questions.
