Creating the LTSA 13 is a huge work : the biggest part of it will be the guiding rails all along the cargo (a work i may also make some day...)
If you need technical informations, feel free to ask.

Welcome mates
Hey Transall NG! I've decided to go with the Eduard Cargofloor for the C-130J. I think it'll look way better than my first idea.

Well, the rolling path is similar, probably slightly different in dimensions but not much at first look. The device on the cargo sides, dedicated to maintaining palets in place and releasing them for dropping, is very different even if it makes the same job (but better for the Transall !) But nothing is impossible with Evergreen ! 🙂
Sorry for my approximative english... LTSA 13 is a french designation : LTSA 13 = ECR 16 + DADA - Lot Technique de Soute Avion 13 = Ensemble de Chemin de Roulement 16 (éléments) + Dispositif d'Arrimage et de Désarrimage Automatique. This device weighed 800 kg, which is a lot, and it was sometimes removed from the plane, at least partially.
I must have pics and schemes somewhere...

I'm trying to replicate it as best as I can using reference photos, but at 1/72 scale it's nearly impossible to build the roller tracks accurately from Evergreen. I don't think the difference from the Eduard C-130J roller tracks will really be noticeable. The scale is just too small.
But detailed images are allways welcome. 😁

Convincing door, although roller's diameter is thicker on a C-160... but one has to know !

Great idea, I was in Ethiopia in Nov. / Dec. 1985... with the Transall

Hello ! If you can, move external rollers to first and last row of fixation pins instead of second and fourth. Same thing on the ramp. I have not your reference pics, but there should be some filet on the freight to prevent it to live its own life during the flight ! 🙂
The rollers color was something like a very lighted gold, matt of course, and it should require some mixing with light khaki, beige... I havn't thought yet about that... 🙁

@Transall NG The pallets won't be in the C-160. I want to show them in flight, and I want one pallet to be in the air and the others to shatter on the ground, so to speak. So, the exact moment of the drop.

Oh, does it look like Gatow in the surrounding area? That means you reached your target date 👍 Very beautiful monument to the Trall!

Thanks again to all of you for the wonderful feedback.
@Kesa, sorry, I totally forgot to take a proper picture. 🤦

@Hajo Indeed it is. I pushed it a little wider because I could not get my finger behind the cargo door to reach the battery box.

Album info
As in previous years, the IPMS Germany model club has partnered with the Military History Museum of the German Air Force in Berlin-Gatow for its model exhibition. As part of the model competition, there is a special category each year. This year's theme is "Humanitarian Missions of the German Air Force Around the World." I chose to focus on the relief flights carried out by the Transall in Africa and plan to build a model depicting the extremely low-altitude airdrop of humanitarian supplies.
