How did you do the shading of the panels? I don't see it in the pictures before the decals. Did you do some post-shading? Which colors did you use?

@Thorsten - the shading is done using AK's Abt502 oil paints - don't remember the exact paints I used as I always experiment a bit, but most certainly white, some light greys, payne's grey and starship filth.

Thanks, this already helps. I am looking for a way to do some shading of my P-40 to make the surface a bit more 'interesting' 🙂

I used to do it with airbrush, but lately I've been experimenting with oils and they give you much more control. Of course even better is to combine different techniques like pre/post shading with airbrush and then hit it with oil paint rendering for example.
