Airfix De Havilland Vampire FB.Mk.9

Nicely detailed kit, with full intake trunk, detailed wheel wells and cockpit 

Ready for first bits of paint to the interiors 

Such a tiny plane next to the J79 engines from the Hustler I'm also building 🙂 

So I managed to forget about the noseweight on TWO kits at the same the time (also the F86F). Should check my head... 😉
So I had to work some lead in through this slightly enlarged opening. 

....which didn't help enough, so I'm gonna need a support for the first time ever to fix a tail sitter. 

And there is NO way on earth I could have crammed 17 grams into that red dotted space >🙁 

Meanwhile the Vampire got its BMF along with the other two birds from that era
