A-10C
1March 28, 2025The initial build was ok, there was a small fit issue at the base of the wings.
2March 28, 2025There is a fit issue when joining both halves of the airplane, it just doesn't fit all that great, so I had to fix certain areas, but I couldn't fix the seam line in the HUD, as the ridge is quite big, but there is no space to sand it down.
I also left out the armored tub part, so I could fit lead weights in the nose.
3March 28, 2025I like the fact that the model had some bumps around the nose, as seen here, I just wished those damage marks would be around refueling door, where actual planes tend to have some dents.
4March 28, 2025Cockpit details, it was quite fun painting this.

6March 28, 2025I have used One shot black primer.

10March 28, 2025After painting the aircraft. I've used Vallejo air paints. The paint around the base of the wing is wrong, as I didn't have the correct paint for this area, but I used what I had. It could look a bit better, but overall it's ok.
11March 28, 2025I did some slight color modulation, but nothing drastic.
12March 28, 2025Finished model. The decals were good, weapon selection is also great. The loadout is 6x AGM 65, 2x GBU 10, 1x mk82, 2x Aim 9, 1x Litening pod, 1x ECM pod.
13March 28, 2025The lenses on Maverics ended up a but too yellow, but I've decided to keep it as is. The instructions called for AN/AAQ-28 Litening pod on the left next to the Aim 9 (as seen on the picture), and ECM pod on the far right station. This tends to be wrong, or at least standard procedure would be Litening pod on the right on station 10, and then Aim 9 on 11, with ECM pod on station 2.
I've noticed this way too late and kept it as it was stated in the instructions.
