omg!! built this one so long ago I do not even want to remember when. where did you found this goldie??

I rebuilt mine as a "low visibility" one, with a thin layer of paint on top of the decals (not such decal option available to me back then 😛 )

Many years ago I made this kit of the Desert Storm reissued by Revell:
Corsair A-7D (Revell 40137, 1:72)
It wasn't a great kit, but I enjoyed it very much.

yeah, my Mig-29 was from the same collection, I think (first or second issue I believe)

Thanks for the company mates! @Spanjaard, I didn't have to go far to get this, I bought it myself when I was 12 😆

A few more pics uploaded. There are some assembly issues that I hope I can overcome, like the toy-like hinges in the wings

OMG, what a vintage kit - I am super curious what you will be able to accomplish with it! Following!

Very interesting 👍 Brings back many memories, I built that kit 40-45 years ago 😳

I agree, shaping up very well. You gotta love a Matchbox kit. Great work mate 👏

Thanks Lee, Neil, for your comments. I have not been able to work on it a lot these last weeks but hope to resume the build soon!

I like the way you bring back to life the old models dear to our childhood. Great job

Thanks Bozo. I still have a few left, I will try to do them justice 😄

Very nice progress, Alberto. Good primer and marbling 👍. Where did you get the Ultimate Primer? I can't find it around here.
@Spanjaard, It's the Bosque Verde wax sold at Mercadona. It's the equivalent of Future in Spain.

Thanks guys! @Spanjaard: Cuajete is right. I've been using it for a long time, it even brushes great as it is self-leveling. Good stuff.
@Cuajete: I bought the Ultimate primer online from their own website in the UK (umpretail.com). But I believe it is the same thing as the Ammo One Shot primer (and Badger Stynilrez)

It's amazing what you're doing with the old kit!
My model must have been built a good 50 years ago now!
Back then, the soft color transitions were still created with a piece of foam....

Thanks Ingo, Lee! If these old kits get a bit of TLC they can be quite rewarding

Thanks mates for the comments and the likes, they are very much appreciated 👍

Great paintjob Alberto! It shows that good skills can turn even such an old kit into a nice model!

Thank you Spanjaard, Mid Franconian! Your encouragement makes the effort put on these vintage kits worth it 🙂
30 July, 12:21
Really appreciate all the nice words guys, I'm very happy that you like the result so far. Not long to go now!

Love what you're doing with this old kit, an old friend to me despite the trench panel lines and lack of detail... one of my matchbox favourites as a youngster..
Speaking of panel lines, they look restrained on this model. Did you fill them or is it just good painting to minimise the effect?
Lovely work.
1 1 August, 22:11
Thanks mates. @Roy, no, I didn't fill in the trench panel lines. I think they are not very noticeable in pic 49 because it was taken from a further distance, but if you look at pic 45 they are definitely there 😄

That's beautiful! So nice to see a classic kit get THIS level of attention

Thank you everybody for the great feedback, I'm delighted that after all the effort you like it. @Mid Franconian: I got the Eduard masks for the Hobbyboss kit, and was surprised to find that they include two sets of overlapping masks that allow you to do the canopy sealing

Lovely Corsair! Brings back memories of building this model when I was a child 🙂

Given me the inspiration to revisit my 1986 built example...

Fantastic result! You've given this old kit a very honorable end. You can be proud, Alberto 👍
Congrats!

THIS was my very first model kit! Your result looks incredible compared to my toy from 1989 🙂
