J-20 in progress

1st and 2nd step done, tried to dry fit landing gear legs to the wheel bay and the fit is better than my last Trumpeter kit 

All the weapon bays fitted well enough 

I choose to close the door of the mean weapon bay since it's a stealth fighter. 

The kit is obviously designed to be made in an open door status, so I have to remove some molded details that would get in the way. 

The front gear bay, the good old trumpeter style of front landing gear assemble procedure 

The cockpit is ok, not going to heavily modify it. 

JUST REPLACE THEM WITH 3D PRINTED ONES 

Painted landing gears with a cold white from gunze, and the lights with this interesting marker pen 

Gunze C307 for the cockpit, gunze gloss black for the ejection seat and the front panel (it needed to be glossy because I need to apply decals to it ), the safe belt and knobs were painted using acrylic paints  

The fit is fine, or what you would expect from a Trumpeter kit. It needed sanding and filling, but not very much. 

The two slots for the vertical tail installation were identical, so it's possible to switch the left and the right tail to make a somewhat familiar aircraft look exotic.  

The final look of the model after filling and sanding. 

Finished the lower fuselage, the weapon bay doors fit not very smoothly, but since it's the lower side of the model, I'll just let it be. 

All assembly is done, I'll soon start painting this model ! 

Never thought that an old tripod could be used as a grip for a scale model. 

First color done! 

The camouflage pattern I've chosen will take a lot of time to mask the model, I hope the final look will be fine. 

The outer color is done.
