I'm planning out a future Tintin project and was wondering if any Motorcycle enthusiasts can help me track down a close approximation to this bike (seen in the last album, Tintin and the Picaros). Given the publication of the album, it would need to be pre-1975. British maybe? Any help?

From what I could tell it looks like some mix of French or Belgian 50cc bikes, the closest match I found is the Flandria "Sportif". Take it with a grain of salt though, I don't know much about motorcycles.

Thanks Kesa... that's pretty close actually. By this time, Herge was pretty meticulous on his depictions, but it's possible it's just a generic "motorcyle" that looks like something he'd (or rather his studio) be familiar with.

Thanks Daniel... I think I found it... Honda CD 50~! I uploaded the picture and even the badge on the side of the gas tank is in the right place!

I have looked through my extra literature on Tin Tin, but so far I have only found something about cars, airplanes, and ships that Herge used as inspiration. But I'm still looking, I haven't finished yet.

According to my research, it could be a Honda S90.

Notice that the exhaust on the S90 is below the engine where as the SS50 it is above it.
