Yea I'm really disappointed with this kit. For all the detail Tamiya put in, You only get the flaperons and rudders molded in the drooped/ powered off position, which locks you into one look. They give you options for things like the arrestor hook down and the inflight refueling probe out but won’t give the most basic option of having control surfaces neutral for in-flight or ready-for-takeoff builds. It honestly feels lazy and half-thought-out, especially when the F-35A and B kits give you the choice. Instead of enjoying the build, I’m stuck trying to hack and modify parts just to make the jet look correct. For the price, this is unacceptable

Doesn't work that way, when you cut off the tabs and fit them in the neutral position you're left with a big gap on the bottom between the flaps and wing

I have this one and honestly, after building A and B, I will probably want to make the C powered off and ready for the elevator to the hangar deck!

I wish we 1/32nd scale modellers would get a kit of this quality just once... Man, I'd LOVE to complain only about flaps and slats which can't be fitted in raised position. Just once in my lifetime.

Dawg I ain't tryna completely crap on the kit because it's a really good kit and I am eventually getting another to have powerd off and at that time I made that comment i was frustrated with it. I'm just simply stating that if you want to have it taking off or flying you'll have to modify some pieces and that I think its stupid that they lock you into one look
