Thanks for the interest guys. I've done the 3D printing of the statue that includes a pivot in the wall so that I'll be able to flip it up. It will probably require a bit of sanding on the bottom edge of the statue because it's a tight fit. Also, as you can see in the background, I've got a few more tiny little Tintin projects on the go (alongside my larger Ship and Jet WIP). You can see Tintin and his Vespa, and the rope across the waterfall. Lots of fun.

After your video model I was expecting some electronics, like a switch which pivots the head together with the noise of grating stone. 🙂

Just think how complicated I mean how impressive it would be. 😉

Haven't figured out anything to over engineer and complicate this project yet, but I did do a bit of work on the pieces. I don't mind if the statue and dias are a bit rough, but I'm trying to cut down on the obvious 3D printing levels.

I've been working on a few mini-Tintin projects. I'm super happy how my silicone waterfall turned out. 🙂

So many little "merveilles" in just a photo! 👍

Thank Alex. A few little projects to squeeze in around my other summer activities. Don't want too much dust on the workbench, right?

Hah! You'd think so, Ben... you'd think so. A few of my Tintin projects throw interesting challenges my way. I used transparent resin in my printer for the first time. The idea is to use it to print out the windscreen for the Carreidas 160 I've previously printed parts for. It worked well, but still left a bit to be desired. Still all-in-all, I can't complain. It's not the worst canopy I"ve ever worked with. I also broke the hands and one foot off my "Tintin on a rope" project and ended up printing a "ghost" Tintin. Tricky to paint I suspect. 🙂

I have experimenting with clear resin on my "todo" list. I have a scene with a large street lamp (whatever scale 8" high figures are) and I want the streetlamp to "light up".

I think it's really cool how you've taken one interest and grown it into such a creative endevour. I always enjoy your builds and I thank you for posting them here.

Thanks for the nice words, Ben. You can visit my blog at strobez.ca/wp/index...1-72-scale-projects/ to see all my Tintin builds (and much more!) as well as some "commentary" around each of them. The password protected pages are all "Tintin".

I should point out that I'm still thinking about a way to make the statue head flip up automatically. I think with a bit more engineering, I could've used a spring and a lever to accomplish that. Oh well. I want to leave something for next time.

What about a servo (from the RC world) in the base connected to a lever of the head on the back?

Updated the final pictures... and here's a video in case anyone wants proof it flips. 🙂
