Thank you so much @Rui S! It's still WiP as I need to finish painting the figures for it (and I suck at that)

Really grateful for the comments @Robert, @Clair, @Marc, and @Robert! I'm just trying to get my figure game to the same level with the base and tank, so I can add some life to it!

V G something that helped me a lot with figures when I started to make decent ones was to use miniature painting techniques as opposed to the more advanced 1/35 scale fig techniques of either oils or glazes. That can wait until you get better control. First, get some good red sable brushes and use them only for figs. You'll only need a couple since the good ones hold a really great point. Then, rely on washes and drybrushing to start. Vallejo's Army Builder line has a great selection of "flesh washes" that lets you vary the tones from figure to figure. Just paint the base color, add a wash, and then dry brush for highlights. Leave it at that or dirty them up with the same mud and dust effects you use in the diorama. Avoid painting eyes beyond a dark slit or maybe the wash will do the job. At 1/35th the eyes are barely visible. Also if a figure has wide open eyes, use a base flesh (caucasian color); paint the eyeball first, add a dark vertical fine slash for the iris, and then clean up the edges with the faces base color. It's much easier to clean up around the eye than to paint it after the face is done. To add depth after your comfortable with it all, you can add glazes with inks. @Michael Osadciw Thank you so much for the helpful tips! I'll definitely try this method too! So far, I was trying to use the preshading + glazes method, with mixed results.
By the way, are there any tips on painting digital camouflage like the Ukrainian MM-14? I kinda ruined a figure trying to paint that...
