1/144 is just too small for me to accurately pre-shade with an airbrush, even using a detail airbrush, so I came up with...

Mike Szwarc AuthorThanks, Spanjaard. This the first 1/144 I've completed (several in the works right now), and my first use of an Iwata HP-B+ airbrush. Camo didn't quite turn out how I intended, but I'm happy with it, and I learned a lot about the detail airbrush. Next up: MicroAce Ki-84 Hayate from the same kit.

Mike Szwarc AuthorThe Sweet kits are much better quality than the MicroAce-- I had to do a lot of extra work on the Ki-43 and Ki-84 cowlings to make them fit properly, and the landing gear and stabilizer fit is very loose. I've started one of the Sweet A5M4s-- a much more enjoyable build.
