Nathan Dempsey AuthorThis build also went down the rabbit hole of launch rails. I did have several LAU-129 type that I was able to use for my Makos build but not for this one (which will require them). Likely it will be after the new year before any of my orders will arrive but I should be able to continue with the sub-assemblies since these items are nearly the last things to be attached.

Small amount of work completed today which included adding the MLU strengthening plates and the wing warning receivers.

Nathan Dempsey AuthorAdded some update photos. I found a resin ACES II seat and decided to add it to the build. Finally attached the updated wingtip rails and attached the tail. Progress has slowed a bit due to bench time along with deciding to start another F-16 build. Triple build!

Nathan Dempsey AuthorI ended up finishing the GBU-39s with paint and decals. They are now ready to attach. I guess I should get working on the actual kit now lol.

Last night I applied the H306. Have I mentioned I love this paint? It feels a little dark but it won't matter once I start post shading. The finish is very smooth and could almost take decals without a clear coat.

Desert MarlinYep. And the nice thing is it shades a little lighter once cured. I think these paints are excellent for the F-16!

Last night I painted the FS36118 using the last of my old Polly Scale paint. It was 25 years old and still performed flawlessly.

bughunterRegardless of your photographic skills, you should give the model a nicer background! Gray or black photo cardboard, for example. This is slightly thicker paper and even in a large sheet (A2) it is not expensive. This beauty deserves it.

Bughunter: My wife has put some sort of black backdrop in our Amazon cart. She comes from a family of photographers so she likely picked the right thing 😁.
