Good news to all. This kit finally appeared as one of the few kits in the October 2025 new kits preview.

Finally! After what, 6 years of waiting since it was announced initially?
21 August, 14:38
Around that. I am also waiting for this kit so that I can build one as is and buy another to take its axles to convert another SLT-56 to a 8 x 8 (I have previously built a SLT-56 in 8 x 8 by taking two SLT-56s and using the front most axle of one of them to replace the non-driven axle of the other) which is a requirement as any non-driven axle will make the vehicle unsuitable for off-road terrain.
22 August, 07:11
Didn't know the SLT-56 were converted to 8x8! Always thought that was the SLT 50-2 and SLT 50-3 were created to address that.
18 September, 14:52
I took inspiration from the defunct millitary-today.com website whose article on the SLT 56 (referred to as FS 42.75/42) state that there are factory modifications for the SLT 56 which includes sand tyres but the most common modification is for a full 8x8 drive with the designation of FS 42.75/48. Sadly, the article has been purged from the internet and there are no photos of the 8x8 drive modification. Hence, I have to figure it out myself.
The SLT 50-3 upgrade is to allow the use of the SLT 56 trailer.

Are there any updates on the release date for this beauty? Thanks!

Announced as one of the kits in the October 2025 new kits preview hence it should be available in 2026.

Any news or do i buy the older version?
3 22 December 2020, 09:14
Dave, there is a big difference between "the old version 00203 " and this new kit 01070.

de.wikipedia.org/wik..9EFranziska%E2%80%9C
the English version just covers the Elefant and misses the Franziska
SLT 50-3, ELEFANT :
trailer 52 ton load capacity, 4 axles with single wheels
engine 8x8 drive = all terrain
SLT 56 FRANZISKA 00203 :
trailer 56 ton load capacity, 6 axles, double wheels
engine 8x6 drive = street only
head lights, wheel hubs, etc ....
cheers

yep, i've built the slt56. i was wondering if i wait or just build another slt56
30 October 2021, 09:14
well, I will wait - two times :
A) that the kit is released
B) to read at least an unboxing review, better a build report to see if the significant detail differences are really made ... hate to spend tons of money on aftermarkets to correct mistakes of the kit

The 8 x 8 drive is the reason I am buying this one over the SLT-56. In fact, I skipped the M920 truck (also a 8 x 6 truck) for the same reason (might as well build an M916 truck [6 x 6 truck] which has all axles powered).
