I've been looking forward to building this for a long time. Back in '82 (I said it was a long time) I built their Boeing F4B-4, but converted it to a Boeing XF5B-1 parasol monoplane fighter - everything except the prop and wheels were changed, and it was included in the Pilot Issue of FineScale Modeler ... I had a P-26 that I scavenged for a few parts and such, but now I have it again and I'm going to enjoy building it. I think I'll build it as one that survived the Pearl Harbor attack, and - later in December 1941 - was painted all-black and used as a temporary night fighter, on the theory that it could catch and defeat aerial snoopers likely to be launched from cruisers, or long-range flying boats out of Kwajalein Island.

Hi Mr. Barnett I am a fan of the P-26 myself. I have an interest in this mention of a P-26 being at Pearl Harbour. I am going to look myself for a reference. My lifelong pen pal cousin served in Hawaii for the USAF. This would be something for her mantle.
