Personal Interest: Test and evaluation of foreign aircraft by the US Air Force was unacknowledged in my youth. However, I was very interested in the aggressor mission. The dissimilar air combat mission became increasingly interesting to me as I learned more about it throughout my career.
Model Specifications: This model represents a former Iraqi MiG-21F-13 operated by the USAF (80965).
Secondary Interests:
Vietnam War: The Soviet Union began providing North Vietnam with MiG-21F-13 fighters in 1966. By the end of the war, North Vietnam claimed 67 aerial victories with the MiG-21, including two B-52 bombers. North Vietnam lost 35 MiG-21s, including two shot down by B-52 tail gunners.
