Found at a very decent price at a flea market, the kit was supposed to be complete, but there was one stock rim missing. A generous fellow on FB sent me the missing (and more parts) to be able to build it factory stock. I decided for the body, state of the art, going with one of several gold tints available in 1968. Airbrush Pro Scale Paints antique gold applied smoothly, cleared with Rodaro clear from a spray can. Most of the various chrome trim and accents are covered with BMF, some small accents and the wheel wells as well as the rear side of the hood are painted with Molotow chrome. Not really a surprise was the need for extensive cleaning of EVERY part. As the interior is quite basic and difficult to detail, I flocked the carpet with Scale Production powder, the rest of the interior is sprayed in Rodaro semi gloss black. The headlights are on the chrome tree, that means not glass. For the first time, I tried STS-uniform headlight decals and, I think, they give them a much more realistic look. The right windshield post was deformed to the outside and I couldn't get it in the correct shape, I even broke the A-pillar, but after fixing the windshield, the problem was solved! There are even TWO nice side view mirrors in the kit! The engine has minimum detail, I wired the ignition but finally let the A/C and battery as is. All in all, a quite simple but nicely detailed kit of a rare subject with no bigger issues, easy to build and a pleasure to have it on the shelf.
