Mikoyan-Gurevich Mig-27K Flogger-D, Zvezda 7228

A fighter-bomber version of the debatable Mig-23 Flogger, Mig-27 is a plane with a surprise. Unlike Mig-23 Mig-27 has a super gun under its belly, a six-barelled 30mm GSh-6-30 gattling, comparable to the famous GAU-8 Avenger of A-10 Thunderbolt. The gun had so powerful recoil that it was known to damage the firing aircraft itself causing fatigue cracks in fuel tanks, numerous radio and avionics failures and even at least one case of the instrument panel falling off in flight. Unlike A-10 gun that is situated at the nose of the aircraft, GSh-6-30 isn't so visible on the model and on real plane. Zvezda model is a middle peasant, but panel lines could be a problem. I made mine out of the box and airbrushed. Kit decals were used although they are quite mininalistic, only for one Soviet VVS variant and there are no stencils at all.
