Supermarine Attacker was the first jet fighter in service by Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. I don't particularly like the look of this plane, but I bought this model because I had a Soviet-made Supermarine Attacker from DZI when I was a kid. That old kit of Attacker was very basic because its molds were developed by British Frog in 1956. Interestingly, no big model makers issued Attacker in 1;72 scale after this and when I found one from AZmodels on one of E-Shops, I was very glad. I already knew that AZmodels isn't an easy thing to do with its short-run kits with resin parts and photoetch, but this kit wasn't a hard build. Only one feature made me puzzled - unfortunately there were two right stabilizers in my kit, but no left at all. I had to solve this problem and here we have the first production Supermarine Attacker No.WA469 in standard dark blue grey upper surface and sky lower surface paint scheme. Two differences of WA469 example from serial planes were also noted in kit instructions: a tail fin without root extension and two pitot tubes on both wings instead of only one on serial machines.
