I really must get on and finish mine (no pun intended!). I'm uncertain what material the treads on the wheels are made from. Rubber? Seems too vulnerable for exploding mines. Steel? Maybe. The kit just says to paint them matt black. Can't imagine that paint would last long on those wheels!

John, I believe they were indeed rubber padded, at least from all the photos I have seen. Think of this monstrosity driving ok thr factory floor or roads too, it would eat up the asphalt.

Thank Djordje. That's made my mind up regarding the colour. Rubber black it is, then.

Album info
Krupp Raumer by Takom in 1/35 scale. Krupp built a single prototype in 1944. It was a dual drive 4x4 two-section vehicle. It weighed 130t, was articulated and had 2.7m diameter steel wheels which were 0.53m wide and on different track widths at front and rear. Each section was powered by a Maybach HL 90 engine. I added figure for scale, similar to the photo from the factory where it was captured. Model 12 for 2024!
