Decals on the underside are in place, received just a little protective gloss varnish, then the whole underside received...

As I ponder over some aspects of the Mirage 5BA (the resin tailpIane), opened the Hobby Boss Mk.1 Hurricane. 🙂

As I just cut out some pieces from my scale 72 Hurricane Mk I I am anxious what you report.

First coat of paint is on.
I'm not sure if H74 is the right colour though… seems a bit too green

Got to agree it does look a bit greenish, I used AKRC RAF Sky on mine which does look a bit lighter. I know it's a bind , but you could go back in and lighten it to your satisfaction.

Most definitely, Marc.
I went back in by using MRP118, but not seeking to fully cover it so that there's a bit of colour variation. 🙂

Before I mask off to apply the green, some subtle post shading for the brown on wings and nose. Complete tail section will be done once the decals are on.

Thanks Jakub, indeed, there was no over (under?) spray to be found. 🙂

Ready for decalling - markings will come from the AeroMaster, while stencils come from Techmod (no stencils whatsoever on the kit decal sheet). Stay tuned

Hobby Boss and Trumpeter decals are definitely like that!!! I feel your pain!!!

The decals I'm using are from AeroMaster and these are quite thin and respond well to Set/Sol.
It's a slow process as I'm puching with a needle every rivet under the decal - so that panel liners have something to fill once I get to that stage (I hope it'll work like so).
So, decal, sol, some dyring time, rivet punching, sol again, drying time etc. Approx. 3 passes, so that they're all well set.
And there's a lot of rivets... hence the slow progress.
The kit decals are way off I think when it comes to colour matching - especially the red in the roundels seems too bright, so I'm not using those. 😉

In that case, well done! No coersion required for them. Just slow and methodical application! All of my Galland Bf 109's are AeroMaster. Some of the finest decals ever made!!!

Viking Hobby in Sacramento (Carmichael) is where I purchased the Galland set about 25 or 30 years ago is about to close. I am really going to miss them!!!

Spit decals came from Ultracast in Canada if memory serves me well. 🙂
